CineFormat AI respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the add-on.

1. Information We Collect

CineFormat AI does not collect or store personal data.

The add-on temporarily accesses only the text that you explicitly select in the currently open Google Docs document, solely to provide screenplay formatting functionality. The selected text may be sent to the Google Gemini API for processing and classification. This data is used only to generate formatted screenplay output and is not stored permanently on any server.

We also collect anonymous usage statistics, such as how often each button in the add-on is clicked. This information helps us improve the add-on's usability and features. These counts do not contain any personal data and are not shared with third parties.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the selected text only to format it into a screenplay structure. We do not share, sell, or reuse this data for advertising, analytics, or training purposes.

3. Third-Party Services

CineFormat AI uses the Google Gemini API to generate formatted screenplay content. Google may temporarily process the text in accordance with its own privacy policies.

4. Data Security

We implement reasonable measures to protect user data while it is being processed. CineFormat AI does not maintain databases, logs, or backups containing document content or personal information.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

CineFormat AI does not retain Google user data.

The selected text is processed temporarily and in real time.
No document content or personal data is stored after processing.
No backups, logs, or copies of user data are retained.

Because no data is stored, no manual deletion is required. All data is automatically discarded immediately after processing.

6. Usage Analytics

We use anonymous analytics to understand how users interact with our add-on and improve the overall experience. We do not collect personally identifiable information such as your name or email address. We may collect anonymous usage data, including events such as opening the sidebar or using certain features. Each user is assigned a randomly generated identifier that cannot be used to identify them personally. We use Google Analytics (GA4) to process this data. Google may collect and process data in accordance with its own privacy policies.

6. Your Choices

You can stop using CineFormat AI at any time by uninstalling the add-on.
You control which text is selected and processed.
Avoid providing sensitive information if you are concerned about AI processing.

7. Google Drive Access

CineFormat AI requires Google Drive access solely to generate and export screenplay files (PDF and Final Draft .fdx) at the user's request. When a user initiates an export:

A temporary document may be created in the user's Google Drive.
The formatted screenplay content is copied into it.
The file is converted to PDF (if selected).
The final export file is saved in the user's Google Drive.
The temporary file is immediately deleted.

CineFormat AI does not access, read, analyze, or store unrelated Google Drive files. Drive access is used strictly for user-initiated export functionality.
